Motley Has Another Solid Run at Toyota Speedway
6.12.10
Going into the weekend, Motley was looking to rebound from two bad races the weekend before. After being 2nd and 3rd in both practices Saturday morning, things were looking pretty good for the #59 to be up front. Motley went out to qualify determined to be up front. After turns one and two of his qualifying lap, Motley looked poised for a top three qualifying run. Going into turn three, Motley realized that the car that went out to qualify before him had slowed on the track. Motley had to take evasive action in order to avoid hitting the other car, slowing his lap. Motley had to settle for an 8th place qualifying run. In the opening laps of the race, Motley worked his way to the 5th position and began to close in on 4th. However, a problem with the size of a tire would slow Motley's car down just enough to be caught by former K&N Pro Series Champion, Sean Woodside. Motley and Woodside battled side by side for 15 laps before Woodside eventually squeezed Motley into the wall to complete the pass. A late race caution bunched the field up with only 5 laps to go. On the restart, Motley made an aggressive move to the bottom of the track but he got loose off the corner and fell back another position, ending the race in 7th.
